Starting today I have quite a fun-filled week ahead of me and baby. Excited to get some catalogues and packets out there to maybe some future hostesses for My Private Quarters parties, really trying to get a good start in our area. I'm ready to share the great items, I for sure am inlove with the products. And since I've spent more time indoors this winter than ever, the coziness really has made me smile.
I spent the day traveling Elko way today and am happy to see the parents, nothing better than mom's home cooking..."Yum, Yum!" Miss my honey though, but see he's entertained when a new dayworking partner showed up and what more can make their evening than some highballs and a game of Wii. Never thought it could really be so entertaining till you do see a few tipsy cowboys stumble around trying to "throw" a bowling ball or box it out. Yes, Yes that is priceless!
Upcoming is spending some awesome family and friend time at my baby shower this weekend. Very Excited seeing as how its takin me to having my own baby to ever attend a baby shower. Never have experienced it before so it will be fun I'm sure. Have family from Sacramento coming in and Owyhee. A much needed visitation! Can't wait to share the details! Have a wonderful week!
I do have to say I wouldn't trade this western life for anything. I love the smell of sage after a good summer rain, the feel of a colt just learning how to turn back a cow, the sounds of bawling calves and yells for the iron. I'm most comfortable in a good set of chinks and my worn out boots, with the sound of my spurs scuffing the barn floor. My saddle is my choice of seating compared to a spot in an Opra hall. My make-up is made up of the dust from following a few hundred head of cattle. My jewelry is made up of silver from a bit maker and my best peice is hanging in my horse's mouth with a floral tooling only a cowboy could admire. My favorite books are not printed yet told by a few buckaroos while having a high-ball after a day of branding. I'd rather see myself to the ground of a round corral coming off a bronc-y colt than sitting in a classroom hearing what has or is to happen after I experienced what I prefer to. Hearing from an old horse trader.."You have to be a lady before your a cowboy"..I do believe he was right. There's always a place for a little glam in your life. You just have to find your calling and which hat looks prettier...
